It's been quite a while since my last post on this blog, but I have decided that I should try to update it at least sometimes..Here is a little Robin friend I painted using gouache. I really enjoyed painting this one. This little guy is currently for sale as a print, here in my art etsy shop. : )

I feel it in the air.

In the light on afternoon days,

I throw my arms above

With nothing to say.


 My feet in the soil,

with roots twirled, and entwined,

and in my ear finches

that whirl and chime.


In the grass, the wild flower I lay,

to take in what is lovely,

and unique in today.

Each day to start new

like a seedling that has sprouted,

I choose not to feel guilty,

unworthy, or doubted.


I understand this now,

where beauty grows and remains,

we have been created,

and none are the same.

Shop and an Update

I thought it was about time to connect this little blog to the etsy shop that I opened. Ever since I was very young, I had always loved to discover treasures and antiques. It's fascinating to wonder what stories such findings have in their history. After a long time of wondering whether or not I should, I finally decided to do it. So, I opened up a vintage etsy shop, and called it..By The Orange Tree!


I recently added this pair of mushroom salt and pepper shakers, as well as this mushroom mug to the shop today. These and other vintage treasures can be found here.

Hello November

November has now arrived (well, 6 days ago), and though the weather has changed from sunny and warm to misty, chilled air throughout the day and back, I have lately sensed the heart of November beginning to show of it's arrival. It is a month closer to Christmas time, and through it we remember what we are thankful for. The skies change colors, and clouds change their shape, and it's nearly time to bundle up in warmth and take in all the beauty in nature and around us of this season that God created. I have seen photo after photo of lovely gatherings, food, and captured emotions and the more I see them, the more I think about how much I love the seasons. I feel blessed to experience them.

Hello! It has been a very long time now that I have had the idea of creating a blog in the back of my mind. I had attempted to create one before, but unfortunately the idea didn't go very far. Here I am again but this time this blog came to me and with it came many different ideas. I am an early-early twenties newlywed and I love to collect and treasure inspiration. The first idea that drove me to starting this blog was how I want to find, and how it is so possible to find God in everyday adventures. There are so many things that inspire me, and as I thought of what to post as an intro post, I thought I would start off by making a list of inspiring things. Since new inspirations are always popping up, maybe this can turn into a monthly thing. We'll see how it goes. : ) Here is a list of constant inspirations for me:
